Artist Statement: "As a painter whose work pulls at the emotional and symbolic relationship between personal interiors and wild imagined ecologies, I am deeply drawn to Zion National Park's sculptural formations, striking colors, and profound sense of geological time.
While my hand is informed by a traditional realist approach to painting, I digest visual information through the lens of myth, transformation, and resilience. I see this residency as an opportunity to strengthen my dialogue with the natural world, not just by observing it, but by interpreting what it reveals about our own inner landscapes...
...Zion's physical grandeur invites all, but what interests me more is its emotional topography, the way being in such a place shifts the way we perceive time and selfhood." Visit Tanya's website at: www.tanyawischerath.com.
